I dreamed that I died and it felt like sleeping
             without the dreams.

I dreamed that I died and all I could think of was
                  (myself)
the people I left behind;       people I hate, people I love,       people I don't know or maybe I do,
people I don't particularly care about

like the way I don't particularly care
                        (hate, love, know)
                about myself.

    Sometimes.

I dreamed that I slept and it felt like dying
and it's all I can think of,         because it's a little confusing         and a lot-
                         scary, frightening…
                                          curiouscurious.

    I dreamed that I slept and died;
    I learned, I think,
                what it means (to me)
           to:
                love,         hate,         know (or not).
Or maybe I just think I do.

    I slept and died mid-dream-
          I wish I had remembered

                    (myself)
              my prayers         before I-

    (Dreamed.)
Strange dreams from listening to Kyle Landry's arrangement of Passion one too many times.
Just something I randomly thought up when I should've been working. Like everything else. *brick'd*
I'll probably add more, but thought it best to post before I disliked it too much.

I like how the little stanzas and set-aside words kinda pull you into each new line, instead of how some poems make you feel like you're trudging through them. Very nice work :) It's funny, I fainted once and I remember very vividly that it felt just like sleep except I wasn't dreaming or aware of anything at all. Not quite like dying, but, this made me think of that.

You make a good point! The formatting of this poem was very difficult, because I didn't want it to be or seem arbitrary. I'm happy it felt like it was pulling you through the words rather than the other way around, I think that's one of the best ways to read a poem. As for passing out, I've done that a fair few times myself, and you're right, it does feel that way, doesn't it? I wrote this after a very deep sleep that didn't feel like sleep at all, and I think it was rather like fainting, but slower. If that makes sense...

Thank you for the wonderful comment! :D

This is very wonderful. I find it very sad though...particularly that last stanza (if you can call them that >.<).

Thank you bunches! It is rather sad, though I suppose I didn't intend for it to be that way. I'm glad you liked it!

I really like this poem. Especially the line "I dreamed that I slept and it felt like dying", very poetic. I also really liked how disjointed the structure of this poem was. It adds to the theme of general confusion this person is facing. Very nice!

Thank you bunches for the kind and thoughtful comment! :D I'm really glad the structure had the intended effect, it was something I struggled with quite a bit.
